Horseback riding to Tapi Fortress

This beautiful route from the village of Urtsadzor to the medieval Tapi fortress passes through plains, hills and mountain slopes. Along the way, participants will cross the river on horseback, climb a beautiful rock, where they can take pictures and enjoy magnificent panoramas. The most impressive part of the route is the 10th century Tapi fortress and its surroundings. Although the fortress is small in size, it is very beautiful and fits perfectly into the surrounding nature.

Visiting a historical place on horseback gives a unique feeling. The historical spirit of the fortress and a horse ride through its territory will involuntarily transport you mentally to the Middle Ages.

On the territory of the fortress, you can rest, have a picnic and visit the small church inside the castle. Then, participants will climb the hill near the fortress, from where the Tapi fortress is clearly visible. After enjoying the wonderful views, the participants will return to the village of Urtsadzor by a different route. On the way back there is a beautiful rock with two geological layers: the upper part is red and the lower one is gray. Here you can take very beautiful photos standing on the edge of the rock with horses.

The last part of the route goes through fields, where there is a great opportunity do gallops.

The tour is available in all seasons, as the route can also pass through fields and dirt roads.

Riding is 4-5 hours, the length is 15-16 km.
