Hiking to Aghjots and Havuts Tar monasteries of the Khosrov Reserve.

The hiking route includes two of the most famous monasteries of medieval Armenia: Aghjots and Havuts Tar. Both monasteries impress with their rich architecture and left behind a significant historical and cultural heritage. Aghjots and Havuts Tar monasteries are located in the Khosrov Reserve, in highland places, from where wonderful views open.
The Khosrov Reserve has been known since the 4th century, when King Khosrov Kotak founded a forest on its territory in 330-338, which served as a hunting ground. It is one of the first artificial forests in the world.
The route from Garni to Havuts Tar and Aghjots monasteries passes through mountains and is rich in beautiful panoramas. The return route is in a different direction, passing through mostly flat terrain.

The length of the route is 20 km, relative altitude is 800 m.
